There is some contradiction about the year of establishment of the school. School observed 100th year of establishment in the year 2005. On thorough investigation it was found that school has established on 1905 as Middle English Medium School. Then there was a debate in Tripura Legislative Assembly about the establishment of the school. School Education Department has issued a memo regarding the year of establishment on 1905 as per Department of School Education: Vide Memo No. F.11(4-82)-DSE/2002 Dated- Agartala 15th December 2004.
